Loud and proud!

proud

One of the things that I am really proud of is the fact that I have overcame so many challenges and trials in life when I was younger. The things I have overcame were things that very few of people my age have undergone. Yes, I am loud and proud about my sacrifices! I am reminded of everything I went through when I was browsing Legacy History Pride – HBCU apparel. I am checking out college apparel for my goddaughter who is now taking up her business degree in one of the best historically black colleges in the US. I saw the story behind the company and I am reminded of my past.

And, you know what? I have a lot of regrets, yes, but I am also one of those people who have always used the challenges I have faced in the past to boost my strength in the present. I may cry a bit every now and then but I know that I am stronger than whatever trial I am facing at the moment.

It is the same with Legacy History Pride with those university apparel and collegiate apparel that those loud and proud kids can wear. I believe that each one of us has faced a really great adversary in life. And we can proudly share our story on how we overcame it. Yes, just like the apparel company owner did when he started his life in the US.

bullying

However we try to deny it, Bullying happens in schools everywhere in the world! Be it in public or private schools, bullying is rampant and can’t be stopped. Steps are taken to ensure that kids are protected from bullies, but, believe it or not, even authorities in school who should be the first ones to protect the students can be bullies, too!

Do you know the very thing that we can do to stop bullying, once and for all? Make sure your child knows how to protect himself/herself! Tell your child also to not be afraid to tell you what’s happening to him or her in school. Be more active in your child’s school life. Get to know her friends and classmates! Know her school teachers. Make sure you are always there when your child needs you.
